At the Fox household, you just never know what kind of excitement awaits you on a (typical) weekend. For instance, this weekend we continue on my resolution - 08: the year of the closets. Today, we are working in Derek's office, which for all intents & purposes has become the repository for all things "crap." Don't know what to do with it? Throw it in the office. Can't put it where it really goes? Throw it in the office. Need to put it on the non-existent bookshelf? Throw it in the office. Need to file something? Throw it in the office. Seriously. It's ridiculous.
In order to spur the mass cleaning effort, I ordered a really nice sofa to go in the office which will arrive on our doorstep in approximately six weeks. Surely we can handle a six-week cleaning? Yes, I think so. We've made some pretty good progress today. We had to clean out the actual office before we could even begin to address the office closet. Oh my goodness! If I thought the office was a repository, it doesn't hold a candle to what has been stuffed, crammed, wiggled, thrown, and perched in that closet! Seriously. Breathe on the piles in there and you're asking for a quick & (mostly) painful death as the mountains of crap come raining down on top of you.
So...we've found a home for the Ikea chairs & ottomans that were living in there. That gives us six weeks to find someone in need of (purchasing) a really nice DLP tv stand. Right now, we're on our way to Ikea to buy the bookshelf I found. We decided rather than piling up everything that needs to go on the bookshelf, we'd go ahead & make the trek to purchase it. So it can be assembled & ready to go for the evening cleaning session(s).
In the process, we'll be making bigger messes in order to get the closets cleaned. But in the end, it will all be worth it! Oh the fun we have!
