Unexpected Bump in the Road

Yesterday was an interesting day. About an hour after I got to work, I started having pain in the lower right quadrant of my abdomen. It progressively got worse and I had waves of nausea. I went to see my doctor around 11 because I had this sneaking suspicion it might be my appendix. Ran a bunch of tests at the dr's office that weren't immediately conclusive. Went back to work to await results. Got a call about 2 that my white count was elevated which was cause for concern given the other symptoms I was experiencing. My doctor referred me to a specialist & I immediately left work for that appointment. The specialist strongly urged me to have a laparoscopy to determine the source of the pain & infection. I immediately was admitted and was in surgery about an hour later. My appendix was inflamed and was thus removed. I'm now at home recouperating. While I don't feel great, nothing compares to yesterday. Needless to say, I do feel better. I'm just uncomfortable at this point but hope I feel more like myself by tomorrow. My doctor has cleared me to sing Sweeney Todd next week, and I can return to rehearsal when I feel well enough to do so. I hope to go tomorrow evening but will likely not go back until Saturday.
